Floppy Disk Destruction
Data Destruction Inc. destroys floppy disks by shredding or degaussing to NIST SP 800-88 r2, because diskettes are magnetic media that respond to both a Destroy and a Purge outcome. Every job produces a serialized Certificate of Destruction.
Floppy disks are frequently the oldest media in an organization, and the hardest to read, because working drives have all but disappeared. That is exactly why they are risky: nobody can check what is on them, and nobody can overwrite them. Physical destruction or degaussing removes the guesswork.
